LESTER

Age: ~ 7 years

Sex: Male

Breed: Possibly a New Guinea Singing Dog Mix

Size: M (~ 50lbs)

LESTER has had an incredibly rough life. He was born on the streets of Thailand and was run over by a car when he was 8-10 weeks old. A kind stranger brought him to a veterinarian's office where he was cared for after a leg had to be amputated, due to extensive injuries. An American vet tech, who had been volunteering at the office, felt a connection. Lester was transferred to a shelter and no one wanted him. It was time for the vet tech to return to the US and she decided to adopt him. She flew back to Massachusetts with him and formed a bond.

Unfortunately, early life trauma produced a very wary soul and suspiciousness of strangers — He bit someone. The vet tech was in danger of losing not only her home, but her job as well if she chose to keep him. She found him another home - another stressful change for Lester. It didn't work out. The vet tech tried to place him in a shelter. Literally, OVER 200 shelters said NO to Lester; some only expressing willingness to take him if she'd agree they could euthanize him. She didn't give up, Annie’s Orphans was contacted and Lester was flown in.

He's been at our shelter for a while now. He is still VERY wary of strangers, but has developed bonds and, once he eventually warms up, he's a sweetie. To those of us he knows, he's a lap dog and a kisser. In return, he gets all the love, attention, stability and care he needs! Lester is a permanent resident at Annie’s and is not suited for foster or adoption.

If you would like to help Lester, consider sponsoring him to help us pay for his food, supplements and vet bills.
