A Rescue Mission From The Euthanasia List
Annie’s Orphans recently slipped in an impromptu trip to New Mexico between snow-storms to pick up nine babies and young dogs, the objective being to team up with a municipal shelter there in finding each of these dog’s a BEST LIFE! Kudos to BRENNAN’S STAR EXPRESS LUBE for ensuring that the trusty old Annie’s Orphans ride made it there and back in good form! We also want to give a shout out to VALENCIA COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER for their professional, caring, competent and welcoming approach to us! Like many shelters now, the intake numbers are high. The job is not an easy one and, sadly, includes ongoing dire and impossible decisions, a reality which is compounded when people don’t rise to accept both the benefits AND the obligations inherent in welcoming a pet into their lives.
By bringing these nine dogs from Valencia County into Annie’s Orphans, the good folks there reminded us that not only are we saving these nine lives, but we are saving nine other lives that can be saved by them. These dogs will need adoption or foster. When you adopt one of Annie’s Orphans, you are saving two lives… the dog you adopt and another dog that we can help.
