Callie - Adoption Pending!

Callie - Adoption Pending!
Callie is a young girl who came to our facility pregnant; she was abandoned at the Four Corners Monument, presumably for that reason, and was rescued by a couple visiting there. She is believed to be under a year old and is a sweet, friendly, pretty girl. This little mom gave birth to six babies on the evening of June 9th, and Callie will be adoptable as soon as the babies are weaned and all her vet-work has been completed.

Charlie

Charlie
Charlie is a Dingo from Tijuana. He is a very handsome young fellow, approximately one year of age, with nice coloring and ears sized for function! He is good with dogs and children, but not with cats. Charlie is good-natured and active. He would probably be great in agility classes. He is able to scale fences, so potential adopters would need to have a secure yard. Charlie also will need more training on leash.

Clancy

Clancy
Clancy has returned to our shelter: He was adopted out as a puppy and -- now, three years later -- was returned due to injuring a small dog living nearby. Clancy is believed to be a mix of Shepherd and Carolina Dog, but also looks as if he may have some degree of wolf included in the mix. Due to the reason for his return, there is the question of how he might behave with small dogs, in general; but at our facility, he has seemed receptive. The same receptivity has been true of cats upon initial testing. We will be looking for a home with no small children. Clancy is very friendly and engaging with people and walks great on leash (but is evasive with being leashed-up, a behavioral issue around which he's currently receiving training). He is a beautiful, regal-looking guy of red-sable and white coloration. Clancy is around 5 years old.

Courtesy Posting - URGENT-Fiona
As a courtesy posting, Fiona is not at our shelter and is described according to information provided: Fiona is a good natured, fun loving dog. Until a few months ago, she spent most of her time alone in a kennel inside a garage, as her previous owners had discovered a family member had an allergy to her. This continued from about four months old to recently (she's now over 1 year old). She was overweight and extremely matted, and even though we weren't sure if we could keep her forever, we wanted to save her from that environment and try to find her a new, better home. She is good with our other dogs, but does play rough. She is good around kids, just jumpy and hyper. She does not seem to be catching on to house training well, and is currently most comfortable in her crate when indoors. Given her breed and the lack of freedom in her first year of life, it's understandable that she would require time for acclimating, running out the puppy-energy that was suppressed for so long and learning the ropes. She will need some patience around other puppy-habits, such as whining and chewing and is looking for the right someone who has the space, time and energy to help her experience the broad world before her. Fiona is microchipped and spayed. Contact: Julie 970.749.1781

Courtesy Posting - Xander

Courtesy Posting - Xander
As a courtesy posting, Xander is not on-site at Annie's Orphans and is described per information given to us: This is Xander and he is a 6 yr old Black German Shepherd mix. He's a lovable goofball who is good with other dogs but has never been around cats. He is great with kids and let's them climb all over him without a fuss. He's pretty mellow when inside then loves to run when outside. He's always been an inside dog but was not crate trained...just has his own bed. The only thing he has ever chewed is dirty diapers...yuck! He is chipped and neutered and will come with a bed, assorted leashes, and whatever food we have left at time of swap. We are trying to re-home him because we are just not home enough to give him the attention he deserves. We work 10+ hours a day and now travel alot without being able to take him with us. He's a great dog and we just want him to be somewhere where he has lots of loving attention. FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT angmccloy@gmail.com

Daisy

Daisy
An exceedingly attractive dog, Daisy is a red brindle and white girl, with the red coloration extending to her nose as well! She was picked up as a stray and subsequently surrendered by her owner. Daisy is 6 years old and probably house-trained, but we will be very selective with choosing an adopter for her, since Daisy requires a dog-savvy individual with a sense of commitment to training. She has demonstrated some sketchy patterns recently in interactions with other dogs. She also pulls a bit on the leash, but is getting better with practice.

Eddie

Eddie
Eddie is a German Terrier who is adoptable to the right person -- an individual with a lot of dog experience and training know-how. He has abundant energy that needs to be applied in a positive direction. He will require a secured, fenced yard and a home with no other pets, as he is unpredictable with other dogs. He can also be unpredictable with strangers. Eddie is between 7 1/2 and 8 years old and came from a high-kill, out-of-state shelter. He has been treated for heart-worm disease and is clear to be adopted.

Geena - IN FOSTER HOME

Geena - IN FOSTER HOME
Geena is protective, and she also has a defined preference for females. Geena came to us as an out-of-state stray. She is strong-minded, but responsive to training. Very fun-oriented, she has cute antics and is delightful to watch. Geena is an attractive dog, with very nice markings. The best placement for her will be in a household where she will largely be with the person or persons familiar to her -- not a lot of "stranger-traffic" and no children. UPDATE: Geena is currently being fostered and is receiving training and special attention from her foster mom!

Kuni

Kuni
This 5 year old, Rough Collie/Border Collie (OR Australian Shepherd) mix recently lost her home due to circumstances beyond her control. While not trained to leash, she is extremely skilled at "fetch" and other forms of play and is great with small kids -- just, overall, a friendly, active and smart girl. Kuni is looking forward to finding happy placement with an active individual or family.

Ladybug

Ladybug
Ladybug is an incredibly fun-loving and cool dog. She does play too rough with cats, but may be responsive to training on this issue, as she has shown amazing acumen in other areas of training! Ladybug is one year old and an owner-surrender (no fault of her own). She is good on-leash and obedient off-leash, with handler present. Believe it or not, this girl's dam was a Catahoula! While, she didn't take after Mom, we're assuming from her build that the sire may have been a Whippet. Ladybug is fully up-to-date on all vet-care and eager to set up house with a person or family of her own!
