Tomas

Tomas
This recent intake is a 4 year old, light buff-colored fellow, who weighs approximately 10 pounds. He is extremely cute and full of personality! Tomas was owner-surrendered along with his friend, Lady, and is eagerly awaiting a new start!

Sweet Eddie

Sweet Eddie
Unbelievably, this boy is STILL with us! Sweet Eddie is ALL THAT! He is a 1 year old, blue tri-color, heeler-mix, house-trained and adorable, hosting a fabulous personality. He came to us as an out-of-state transfer when his time was up at the previous shelter. While several people have shown great interest in Eddie, he is still eagerly awaiting his life-time companion!

Pounder

Pounder
This little man will need a special home, with someone who understands and has the patience for old dogs. He is a 15 year old schnoodle, with a very sweet disposition, but some mental weaknesses due to old age. His vision and hearing are also failing at this point. He was originally brought in to Annie's Orphans after his owner was stricken with Alzheimer's.

Bella

Bella
This 3 year old yellow lab was owner surrendered after she developed some behavioral issues related to separation anxiety. She is spayed and will be made current on vaccinations very soon.

CURRENT OWNER'S COMMENTS ON SKYE: "Skye will be 3 years old in August. She is up to date on all of her shots and vaccinations. Skye is a hyper, affectionate dog that likes to play and cuddle. She needs a great deal of exercise, as her breed has a ton of energy. I would suggest that if you would like to adopt this dog, you need a fenced in backyard for her to run and play. She has been in multiple private trainings, where she has learned tricks like sit, stay, shake with both paws, roll, play dead, jump, crawl, and legs out. One of her downsides is that she can't be off the leash, as she will run away and does not listen to come. Other than that, she is a great dog to have for an active lifestyle and loves hiking, walking, running. Her favorite toys are sticks, and when you throw one she will run after it but might not see where it actually went. She does well with other dogs, as she has a brother. She also is curious about cats, and from experience, the cat seems to be afraid of her as she wants to play." Owners' reason for letting her go is that they are moving out of the country.

Oliver/Odie

Oliver/Odie
One very appealing boy, Oliver is extremely social, excellent with people and good with most other dogs. He is about 1 1/2 years old and came from a Missouri high-kill shelter, having been found as a stray puppy trying to eke out a living for himself. While he is largely house-trained, he will still need supervision. Oliver also benefits from the presence of another well-trained dog within the household whose cues he can follow. One concern is that Oliver has developed a liking for cords/hoses, and training is in place to discourage this fetish. Site-specific training as well as supervision will need to occur after he has found his perfect home.

Pam

Pam
Pam is a 4 year old, pure-bred Boston Terrier, quite a bit larger than most. She and her friend, Sam, needed placement when their aging companions moved into assisted living, and Annie's was called since the family hoped to avoid any risk that the beloved pets might be euthanized. Pam is friendly, sweet and playful. She is a trimmer, more fit dog than when she first came to us, but she does have a tendency to gain weight; therefore, free-feeding would not work for her. Pam is microchipped.

Abigail/Abby

Abigail/Abby
Once she gets to know you, Abigail is a very friendly, 3 year old Doxie. She is good with cats and fine with dogs, although she is more dominant in approach to the latter. She enjoys car-rides and is crate trained/house-trained, as well. She has no known health issues, other than carrying a bit too much weight. She is a food-monger and will "climb" in order to get out-of-reach food, so she will do best with someone whose work/life is centered from home.

Sam

Sam
Sam is a large, ginger-colored, 9 year old, full-bred Chihuahua boy. He and his doggy friend needed placement when their aging companions moved into assisted living, and Annie's was called, since the family hoped to avoid any risk that the beloved pets might be euthanized. While a tad stand-offish initially with strangers, Sam gets very attached to "his person," is quite friendly/sweet and listens well.  Since his arrival here, he has slimmed down and his coat has taken on a healthy sheen.  While he has lived for years as a housetrained pet, Sam may need a "refresher course" on the subject following adoption.  He will be happiest placed in a home with a gentle, small, female dog, since he loves playing the role of "big brother." Sam is microchipped.

Ammo

Ammo
Ammo, Male, Jack Russell Terrier, 3 1/2 years old (birthday July 10, 2006), ~24 pounds. He needs to go to a home without small children (kiddos 3-4 and under), he would love a large backyard to run, and preferably no other dogs except his brother Satchel (or cats) (although not necessary if unavoidable; it would just be easier on them). They have had some puppy training classes (from PetSmart) to sit and stay but aren't very good with stay command as we haven't made the time to really work with them. They are current on shots. They are also microchipped! When we took these surrender dogs in, we could see they were good and very trainable. They learn quickly and will make wonderful companions.
