Tatum

Tatum
Tatum is still looking for her life-time person. She is a "tom-boy," not into holding and petting, but a good watch-dog and a fun-loving companion. Tatum is a little ginger-colored girl, who was picked up as a stray, scared and alone. She is at a stable weight and in good form, after her time of having to scrounge for food and hide from dangers. Due to unknown experiences, she came into our shelter skittish/nervous and has made some headway in that area. Still, she will need a patient and loving handler -- someone with whom she can develop trust, who can accept her for her good qualities and not require a lap-dog. She is best suited for a quiet living situation, a household with no children. "Tater" is a part of a "pack" of small dogs out here, loves her pals and playtime and would most likely do quite well with another small household dog. She is probably 6 years old, around 5 to 6 pounds and infinitely cute!!

Angus

Angus
This kid looks like a tall Cairn Terrier. Angus has recovered from being bitten by a rattlesnake and has been fostered out, since personal reasons prevent his former owner from keeping him. His best buddy is Bentley, also on this site. Angus is territorial with other dogs, but otherwise seems to have an even approach to the world. Angus is most likely house-trained, but we don't know for certain yet.

Oliver/Odie

Oliver/Odie
One very appealing boy, Oliver is extremely social, excellent with people and good with most other dogs. He is about 1 1/2 years old and came from a Missouri high-kill shelter, having been found as a stray puppy trying to eke out a living for himself. While he is largely house-trained, he will still need supervision. Oliver also benefits from the presence of another well-trained dog within the household whose cues he can follow. One concern is that Oliver has developed a liking for cords/hoses, and training is in place to discourage this fetish. Site-specific training as well as supervision will need to occur after he has found his perfect home.

Pam

Pam
Pam is a 4 year old, pure-bred Boston Terrier, quite a bit larger than most. She and her friend, Sam, needed placement when their aging companions moved into assisted living, and Annie's was called since the family hoped to avoid any risk that the beloved pets might be euthanized. Pam is friendly, sweet and playful. She is a trimmer, more fit dog than when she first came to us, but she does have a tendency to gain weight; therefore, free-feeding would not work for her. Pam is microchipped.

Simon

Simon
Simon is back. This little man was adopted out in 2011, but has some behavioral problems that will require patience and love. You see, Simon came from a hoarding background. He is now learning a lot about life and freedom and, while the 3 other dogs that arrived with Simon from the same hoarding situation have adapted quite well to their new loving homes, it looks like Simon needs more time. He would like a home with structure and lots of positive attention. He is young, at just over a year old, and seems happiest in the presence of other dogs.

Shotze

Shotze
This tweenie-sized dude is handsome, nicely colored, energetic and hungry for a loving home. He is good with other dogs and makes friends easily, but is not overly fond of dogs that are too pushy. He is a robust, well-built little charmer. Shotze loves playing with his squeaky toys and socializing with people. Check him out!

Breezy

Breezy
Breezy bonds quickly and securely and seems to choose one individual as the focus of his world. He has a sweet nature and a delicate build. His coat is very light and short, so sunning will need to be minimized. At 8 months old, Breezy has little experience with the basics of house-training, so will require a strict schedule and patient but "dogged" guidance. Still, he is an adorable, very small boy who is hoping for that special someone to come along and do a walk through life with him!

Papi

Papi
This precious little Doxie boy is about 2 years old and gets along with dogs and cats, as well as enjoying kids. Contact us to schedule a play-date!

Red Sonja

Red Sonja
With beautiful yellow eyes contrasting her deep red coat, Sonja is a fantastic-looking mini dachshund. She is good with other dogs and is, in general, a sweetheart. She came to us from an out of state shelter, is approximately 1 year old and will be scheduled pronto to be spayed.

Ammo

Ammo
Ammo, Male, Jack Russell Terrier, 3 1/2 years old (birthday July 10, 2006), ~24 pounds. He needs to go to a home without small children (kiddos 3-4 and under), he would love a large backyard to run, and preferably no other dogs except his brother Satchel (or cats) (although not necessary if unavoidable; it would just be easier on them). They have had some puppy training classes (from PetSmart) to sit and stay but aren't very good with stay command as we haven't made the time to really work with them. They are current on shots. They are also microchipped! When we took these surrender dogs in, we could see they were good and very trainable. They learn quickly and will make wonderful companions.
