Zoe

Zoe
Zoe is around 5 years old. When she arrived here, she was in her final days of pregnancy and had been traveling, as a stray, on a busy Utah highway. She loves people (sometimes, with a bit more enthusiasm than is necessary, but she does settle down with appropriate direction). Zoe will need a home with a secure yard, and an active lifestyle would be good for her. She would like a companion who can be with her a lot --someone who works from home or is retired. Another doggy companion would also be ideal.

Adopt a Senior - Cubby! - Adoption Pending!

Adopt a Senior - Cubby! - Adoption Pending!
This beautiful girl is an owner surrender, and we were told that she is 10 years old; however, the vet says she can't be any more than 8 years of age (AND SHE HAS THE CUTE ANTICS OF A 2 YEAR OLD)!! Cubby is a lean and active dog and seems quite healthy, with the exception of pannus (an issue of the cornea) -- for which she is receiving treatment. She is great with other dogs and kids, calm and sweet in temperament, overall an excellent dog. UPDATE: Cubby's issue with pannus has reverted and her vision is worsening, at present. Updates will be given as status changes.

Loki

Loki
This is one wonderful, little dog! Loki is great with other dogs and with kids. He is 8 years old and immensely sweet. He was owner-surrendered, through no fault of his own and is looking for a home that will appreciate his excellent disposition.

Murdock

Murdock
Murdock is such a happy boy -- which says much about him, for his life has not been an easy one. He and his brother were picked up as stray puppies, both having experienced physical trauma, deduced to have come from abuse. The outcome of that, for Murdock, is what appears to be trauma-related brain-damage, with resulting developmental delays and visual "miswiring." Murdock is now one year old and, as the months pass, he is showing clear signs of improvement; but he has special needs and will require a home that can both accommodate his differences and support his potential. In return, this fellow will delight you daily with his unwavering optimism, innocence and absolute lovability. (See more about Murdock on Annie's Orphans home-page.)

ADOPT A SENIOR - Odie

ADOPT A SENIOR - Odie
Odie is just the coolest boy -- mellow and affectionate. He is another one of our dogs who has been here far too long! In his young, rebellious years, he "ran with the gang," but that was then, this is now. He is an older guy -- 12 years old -- and weighs about 55 lbs. He must have a fenced yard and has to be kept on a leash when walked outside of his yard. As an older fellow, he now has arthritis (and is on Rimadyl), but it doesn't affect his sunny outlook. The only thing that ruffles Odie's feathers is the sound of thunder. He enjoys people and would love a permanent placement for the remainder of his days.

ADOPT A SENIOR - Traveler

ADOPT A SENIOR - Traveler
Traveler has been waiting for "a person of his own" for a very long time. He has lived his entire life at Annie's Orphans, having been found as a stray with his mother when he was about 5 weeks old. They were both starving and close to freezing on the 5 degree morning of their rescue. As a quiet boy, he has been repeatedly overlooked. Traveler is a shy fellow and takes time to warm up, but is able to bond. He is good with most dogs. His preferred placement is a calm, quiet environment with no children. Traveler is on the small side of medium and is 10 years old. UPDATE: Traveler has developed swelling/arthritis in a front foot. He also had a tumor removed from his tongue. His paradoxical reaction to the surgery has been amazing, in that he is acting like a kid again -- animated, full of energy! Give this "seasoned" boy a chance for a great home!

Luke

Luke
Luke is 1 year old and is receiving socialization and training. He is dog-friendly, and applied behavioral training and gentle handling have helped him diminish his wariness of men. While a bit on the submissive side, this, too, is responding well to training. Luke has a hip-socket issue, and assessment of his x-rays concluded that surgery is not necessary right now and likely will not be for years, but as he advances in age, intervention may be necessary. Interested parties should know that Luke is not the choice for a running partner or super-athlete.

Micah

Micah
This little girl is a 4 year old Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua mix. Her breed blend equates to a nice combination of qualities, and she is an attractive little dog. Micah enjoys playtime with people, but also loves cuddling and affection. She is blond with white markings and weighs around 10 to 12 pounds. Her body is built like an Italian Greyhound, so Micah is leggy and slender. She is crate-trained and has been using pee-pads, but will need focus on house-training. Micah is nervous around kids, so she will be adopted out to a household without small children. She is great with other dogs, particularly within her size-range.

Adopt a Senior - Annie & Squirt

Adopt a Senior - Annie & Squirt
Annie and Squirt have experienced some difficult life events of late: First, they lost their adoptive mom; then, their adoptive dad; during temporary placement in another home, the resident dog attacked ~~ so, these confused and sad little ladies are looking for a home TOGETHER that they can peacefully share with someone who loves them. They are around 8 or 9, and the most apt physical description is that they're cute, little butterballs. While they were trained to doggy-door, the recent transitions -- and absence of a doggy-door -- have led to house-training failures; they will need re-training in that area.

Seager

Seager
Seager came to us as a stray from Towaoc. He has been a part of our sanctuary and is, now, considered adoptable. He is, however, a shy guy and panics easily, leading him to be a flight-risk in certain circumstances; therefore, he will need handling in keeping with that -- meaning, a secure yard and excursions only on harness/leash. Seager is around 7 years old.
