Courtesy Posting - Chewy
As a Courtesy Posting, Chewy is not on-site at Annie's Orphans and is described as given: Chewbacca (aka Chewy) is good with other dogs, big and small. He's very interested in cats, but has never been allowed to interact, so it's unknown how he would do with them. He is smart and loves to play ball or any squeaky toy (He eats tennis balls). He knows some commands: sit, lay. It's possible that he has been abused by a man: he is scared of men wearing denim blue welding shirts; but has gotten used to men who are commonly around the house. He is phobic of loud noises, such as shooting guns and fireworks. He will need a secure, fenced yard.

Tatum

Tatum
Tatum is still looking for her life-time person. She is a "tom-boy," not into holding and petting, but a good watch-dog and a fun-loving companion. Tatum is a little ginger-colored girl, who was picked up as a stray, scared and alone. She is at a stable weight and in good form, after her time of having to scrounge for food and hide from dangers. Due to unknown experiences, she came into our shelter skittish/nervous and has made some headway in that area. Still, she will need a patient and loving handler -- someone with whom she can develop trust, who can accept her for her good qualities and not require a lap-dog. She is best suited for a quiet living situation, a household with no children. "Tater" is a part of a "pack" of small dogs out here, loves her pals and playtime and would most likely do quite well with another small household dog. She is probably 7 years old, around 5 to 6 pounds and infinitely cute!!

Charlie2

Charlie2
Charlie is a Carolina Dog from Tijuana. He is a very handsome young fellow, approximately three years of age, with nice coloring and ears sized for function! He is good with dogs and children, but not with cats. Charlie is good-natured and active. He would likely be fantastic in agility classes. Potential adopters will need to have a secure yard. Charlie also will need more training on leash.

Adopt a Senior - Toto

Adopt a Senior - Toto
This senior Chiweenie will need a special home. He is chunky and needs gentle exercise on a regular basis. Toto is good with other dogs and loves lap-time. He would like a female caregiver, as he is not very good with men. A home without small children is also needed. He is between 12 and 13 years old.

Adopt a Senior - Carmen

Adopt a Senior - Carmen
Carmen has been receiving increased training, and this focus - along with extra exercise and socialization - has helped her with her extreme shyness. She has experience living in a household, and the ideal placement for her will be with a single, quiet individual. She was probably house-trained, but will need a tune-up in that area after placement. She will require lots of patience and love, as well as continued effort toward training and socialization. Carmen is 9 years old.

Wolfie

Wolfie
Wolfie was born at Annie's Orphans, to a pregnant mother who was accepted from an out-of-state shelter prior to being euthanized. He was adopted out as a baby and was returned within the first year of his life for pack aggression toward another household pet. Additionally, Wolfie develops a strong bond with a person and has shown protective/guarding behaviors when other people approach the primary individual. Adoption is a possibility to only the right individual who has knowledge of the breed and of handling challenging behaviors in dogs. The necessary living arrangement would include a quiet setting with a solo person. Wolfie is 7 years old.

Murdock

Murdock
This happy little boy is representative of Annie's Orphans' dedication to the foundations that "LIFE MATTERS" and "EVERYONE DESERVES A FAIR CHANCE." This young Carolina Dog mix and his brother were transferred to us a mere two-hours before their brief lives were scheduled to come to an end. Little is known about their back-story, but they were picked up as strays with evidence of physical trauma -- presumably from abuse. The outcome of that, for Murdock, is what appears to be trauma-related brain-injury, with resulting developmental delays and visual "miswiring." Murdock is now one year old and, steadily, as the months pass, we see him evolving, with clear signs of incremental improvement [ex: increased visual tracking ability and less time "watching airplanes" that don't exist (not to us, at least)]! Despite his life-challenges and tough breaks, Murdock is one of the most innocent and happiest beings on earth, which says much about him! He would be best suited for a home that has plenty of love to give and can both accommodate his differences and support his potential. We have reason to believe that Murdock will blossom -- given a supportive environment, with exposure to standard doggy life-tasks, as well as graduated introduction to all types of stimulation. In return, this fellow will delight you daily with his unwavering optimism, his cute antics and his absolute lovability!

Ditto

Ditto
Ditto is a black BC/Aussie mix, with one white foot. He came in as a puppy, with 2 other brothers. They were all locked into a dirty, small yard and abandoned when the previous owners moved. A good soul intervened, bringing them to Annie's and, while they came in a bit underweight, they were in general good health. Ditto is looking to bond with someone who can offer him the time and patience he needs for adjusting to a new setting. He will bond easily, but is shy and will need gradually-phased socialization. He is 1 year old.

Cody & Sierra

Cody & Sierra
Cody and Sierra are two adult dogs who have a special bond with each other -- We would love to see them continue their long-term connection by going to the same home! Cody is a male Border Collie mix, beautiful and smart; Sierra is a female Chow mix, unique and soulful. Both are altered and up-to-date on vaccinations. These two are very good with people and other dogs.

Li'l Bit

Li'l Bit
This very sweet and lovable little fellow is being reluctantly re-homed -- not due to any issues specific to him. He is house-trained, leash-trained, up-to-date with all vaccinations (although a 3-year rabies booster will be required soon). He is around a year old and has lots of life and happiness to share!
