Pickle

Pickle
This little guy is a young, mixed breed fellow...we're guessing maybe some Heeler, maybe some Corgi. He is simply the best boy: good with everything and everybody. He is house trained and well-mannered, great on the leash and currently in foster-care while he waits for permanent placement. Pickle is 1 year old. He is socially-driven and will need a home with other dogs.

Shooter

Shooter
Shooter is possibly a Saluki mix. He looks to be 8 to 9 months old and was found on an isolated strip of road near the 4-Corners Monument. He is being brought back to a state of good health, as his coat and condition currently reflect the tough load that living as a stray has exacted. Nevertheless, this boy's spirit has survived: He loves everyone! He is gentle and cuddly; however, he is afraid of brooms/sticks and will need some desensitizing around this to build trust that people can "behave responsibly" with their tools.

ADOPT A SENIOR - Odie

ADOPT A SENIOR - Odie
Odie is the "Steve McQueen" of dogs: just the coolest boy -- mellow and affectionate. Having boasted a scrappy, independent youth -- running as top-dog with the pack, while taking night-courses in How to Makes Ends Meet -- he has long-since seasoned into The Canine King of Cool. This chill, been-down-and-around, 12 year old would make an excellent addition to a laid-back household. While Odie enjoys his celebrity status at Annie's Orphans, he has a lot to offer and is looking to share his place in life's spotlight with an equally epic human! He must have a fenced yard and leashed walks. As an older fellow, he now has arthritis (and is on Rimadyl), but it doesn't affect his easy outlook. The only thing that ruffles Odie's feathers is the sound of thunder, although he is also not easy-going about cats. Collected with other dogs and excellent with people, Odie rocks!

AS A COURTESY POSTING, BEAR IS NOT ON-SITE AT OUR FACILITY AND IS REPRESENTED AS GIVEN. CONTACT ABOUT BEAR CAN BE MADE THROUGH OUR FACILITY. Bear is two years old, very sweet/ kind/affectionate; he likes to be around people and other dogs. Bear enjoys activity and time spent running and playing in the woods. He would do well to live with a family with a fenced yard and perhaps another dog. Bear has a lot of energy but also likes downtime, lounging and snuggling. He has all his shots and is neutered. The big hope is for a person or a family to permanently bond with and love this amazing guy... he really is a giant-hearted, wonderful dog!

ADOPT A SENIOR - Indy

ADOPT A SENIOR - Indy
Indy is an attractive Shepherd/ Border Collie mix. He is approx. 11 yrs old and around 55 lbs. He is the brother to Coby. Indy loves to play with other dogs, but seems to prefer the lady-dogs. He is shy and skittish and will need a home with consistency, love and plenty of one-on-one handling. Placed with a person who has dog-savvy, he will do well. He has been fostered and thrives in a home environment. Schedule to visit him and bring your dog for him to meet!

Daisy

Daisy
An exceedingly attractive dog, Daisy is a red brindle and white girl, with the red coloration extending to her nose as well! She was picked up as a stray and subsequently surrendered by her owner. Daisy is 7 years old and probably house-trained, but we will be very selective with choosing an adopter for her, since Daisy requires a dog-savvy individual with a sense of commitment to training. She has demonstrated some non-combative, but sketchy, patterns in interactions with other dogs as she has gotten older.

Adopt a senior - Swayze

Adopt a senior - Swayze
Swayze has a "complex personality" -- He gets very attached to "his" people, LOVES playing with kids and is fun to watch as he entertains himself with his jolly ball and tries to get the attention of visitors with his squeaky toys. He's also good with other dogs. Meanwhile, when bonded with core people, he can become protective of his family and their space and can act suspicious and guarded where strangers are concerned. He would only be a candidate for adoption to the right person: someone who is very dog-savvy and would offer consistent and appropriate training and guidance around Swayze's guarding behaviors.  The ideal setting would be a low-bustle, predictable living situation, with few comings and goings of non-core people.  Swayze is around 10 years old and has Pemphigus Erythematosus.

Adopt A Senior - Sammy

Adopt A Senior - Sammy
Sammy is now 10 years old and is a good, but very shy, one-person dog. She would be excellent for a single-person household. A patient individual with a lot of doggy-know-how would be the ideal match. Sammy needs a secure, fenced yard. She tends to be dominant with other dogs, but can get along with them. Sammy came to our shelter from a rescue in Dulce.

Adopt a Senior - Toto

Adopt a Senior - Toto
This senior Chiweenie will need a special home. He is overweight and needs gentle exercise on a regular basis. Toto is good with other dogs and loves lap-time. He would like a female caregiver, as he is not very good with men. A home without small children is also needed. He is between 12 and 13 years old.

ADOPT A SENIOR - Traveler

ADOPT A SENIOR - Traveler
Traveler has been waiting for "a person of his own" for a very long time. He has lived his entire life at Annie's Orphans, having been found as a stray with his mother when he was about 5 weeks old. They were both starving and close to freezing on the 5 degree morning of their rescue. As a quiet boy, he has been repeatedly overlooked. Traveler is a shy fellow and takes time to warm up, but is able to bond. He is good with most dogs. His preferred placement is a calm, quiet environment with no children. Traveler is on the small side of medium and is 11 years old. He experiences arthritis in a front foot and a history of rebounding extremely well after the removal of a tumor from his tongue a couple of years ago.
