Dachshund

Tink - Adoption Pending

Tink - Adoption Pending
This little, red Dachshund likes people and enjoys attention and snuggle-time. She is also good with other dogs, with the exception being that she needs to be fed separately, as she has food-aggression. Tink is between 8 and 9 years old and will need a home with no small children.

Blacky

Blacky
Blacky is a recent arrival who came to us from an out-of-town shelter after his owner had to go into a nursing home. He is a 12 year old, mini-dachshund, weighing in at about 10 lbs. Of course, with the loss of his companion, Blacky's life took a sudden turn; then, more difficulties followed: Blacky was over-anesthetized while being neutered, and his little life was a bit iffy for a while. After stabilizing, an oral infection required attention, and he received much needed dentistry (thanks to the Eagle Animal Protection League!). But, Blacky has come through all of this like the trooper that he is!! He does not seem to experience any ongoing physical complications from these difficulties, other than the fact that he has few remaining teeth and requires a soft or soaked diet. Blacky is good with other dogs and appears to be okay with cats, although he enjoys barking at them. He would be a very good match for a less active individual or a channel-surfer who enjoys good company.

Toto

Toto
This senior Chiweenie will need a special home. He is overweight and needs gentle exercise on a regular basis. Toto is good with other dogs and loves lap-time. He would like a female caregiver, as he is not very good with men. A home without small children is also needed. He is between 10 and 11 years old.

Julio

Julio
Julio was picked up as a stray. He is most likely between 3 to 5 years old. He gets along well with other doggie friends and is probably good with kids (We'll be testing that soon). As a stray, we'll need to take care of his basic vet work, including neutering, right away.

Ninja

Ninja
A black & tan fellow, Ninja is 8 months old, up to date on vaccinations and is patiently waiting for his life-long companion to contact us!

Daisy May

Daisy May
Little Daisy was transferred from a crowded out-of-state shelter where her time was running out, since she required special placement (as a dog who does not like kids). She is only 6 to 7 months old, is not yet house-trained and is closest to sable in color.

Monty

Monty
Monty is one of the most loving little guys I've ever been around. great with other dogs and kids. Actually he thinks everyone is his best friend. He is active and playful and loves to go for walks. He is four years old and needs a loving home so bad. He needs to be watched in the house at first and needs a little more house training.

Jack

Jack
Jack is a 9 year old doxie, who is very sweet-tempered and "mostly" house-trained (He doesn't like the cold). He loves walks, but mainly likes to curl up with someone he loves next to the stove. He arrived as an owner-surrender, due to owner's move into assisted living.

Simon

Simon
Simon is back. This little man was adopted out in 2011, but has some behavioral problems that will require patience and love. You see, Simon came from a hoarding background. He is now learning a lot about life and freedom and, while the 3 other dogs that arrived with Simon from the same hoarding situation have adapted quite well to their new loving homes, it looks like Simon needs more time. He would like a home with structure and lots of positive attention. He is young, at just over a year old, and seems happiest in the presence of other dogs.

Pierre

Pierre
Pierre just came to us from a hoarding situation and so much wants to find his new home! His coat had to be shaved down, but looks as if it's going to come in thick and beautiful. He is good-natured and loving, full of personality and very desirous of affection. He will need structure and individualized attention/training. Pierre is under 3 years old.
